Rajeev Chandrasekhar mentioned that Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and TP Sreenivasan were with him to submit the nomination papers and he expressed gratitude to them for their support.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated that the people of Thiruvananthapuram needed a change and expressed his interest in bringing change to the capital city. He asserted his ability to do so. Rajeev mentioned that a triangular contest was taking place in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency. He remarked that the Congress and Communist parties had nothing to say about progress and development.
