Kannur: A CPI(M) worker died, and another was seriously injured after a bomb, which they were allegedly making, exploded in Kannur on early Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sherin (26), a native of Kaivelikkal, Kannur. The other individual, Vineesh, who was severely injured in the mishap, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode.
According to reports, the blast occurred near a timber mill at Muliyathode under Panoor police limits in Kannur. The police stated that the explosion happened during the bomb-making process. In the blast, Vineesh’s hands were severed, and Sherin sustained facial injuries. Both of them were CPI(M) workers.
They were seriously injured and brought to the hospital by locals. Forensic experts and police are conducting tests at the blast site.
