Ernakulam: Information revealed from a letter sent by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to the Election Commission exposes undisclosed accounts allegedly held by the CPI(M) in Thrissur. The letter indicates that a striking 99 percent of these accounts remain undisclosed, with the party reportedly maintaining 81 such accounts in Thrissur alone. The CPI(M) has not yet disclosed the details of its assets in Thrissur, despite these findings. Additionally, the ED stated that the CPI(M) possesses assets in over 90 locations within the district.

The Income Tax Department is keeping a close watch on the hidden accounts of the CPI(M) in various districts. If any unusual transactions are detected, the Income Tax Department will swiftly take action.

Additionally, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) provided information about 12 cooperative banks to the Ministry of Finance. These banks were involved in fraudulent activities similar to those observed in the Karuvannur case. The Ministry of Finance’s Revenue Department received this information. The report highlights instances where significant amounts of money were disbursed as loans to individuals who were not members of the cooperative banks, violating cooperative regulations.
