Thrissur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily against the CPI(M) and the state government and criticized their involvement in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam. During his public speech at Kunnamkulam in Thrissur district he promised that the BJP will go to any extend to ensure that the investors at the scam-hit cooperative bank receive their money back.

While speaking about the cooperative bank scam, Narendra Modi pointed out that the CPI(M) is looting the people’s money. He said that the left government is seeking new methods to conduct corruptio and Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam is the biggest evidence of this.

Prime Minister said that the CPI(M) looted the crores of hard-earned money of the poor people that was invested in the cooperative bank. As this invested money was not able to be recovered by the investors, marriages of many girls were called off. Modi also recalled the conversation he had with Alathur NDA candidate TN Sarasu concerning the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank.

Narendra Modi also accused the Chief Minister of lying to the people for the past three years. The government failed to take any action in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam. Finally, investigation was begun by a central agency. Rs.90 crore was unearthed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He said that discussions were going on with legal experts concerning returning the money of poor people who invested in the cooperative bank.

The Prime Minister reminded that just like how ED recovered money from Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam, the central agency has recovered Rs.17,000 crores and given to those who were cheated. Modi promised that all possibilities are being examined to return the investors’ money they lost in Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam.
