Kozhikode: It was a tearful adieu to Linu who sacrificed his life while engaged in rescue operations with Seva Barathi activists. He went to save others lives even after his own home was submerged in the devastating floods that is currently ravaging Kerala.
Linu’s father, mother, and his siblings were earlier transferred to a relief camp when the flood waters swept away their home. While in the relief camp, Linu chose to help others who were trapped on housetops surrounded by flood waters.
While engaged in rescue operations Linu got lost from the rest of the group. His lifeless body was later found after hours of search.
His body was brought back to the relief camp for the final rites where his parents and siblings were. His mother broke down after seeing the body of her son who had left her some hours ago to save the lives of others. His relatives have not still come to terms with the unexpected loss of their dear one.
Seva Bharati has been doing relief works since the deluge began. Their rescue operations have saved the lives of many. Their selfless work is been appreciated by people from all walks of life.
Linu’s death came as a shock to all. However, his ultimate sacrifice will forever be remembered and Seva Bharati goes forward upholding the high ideals of sacrifice and selfless work to those in dire need.
