Kannur: Janam TV had earlier exposed Health Minister KK Shylaja teacher’s eyeglasses worth Rs. 28,000. Also, her husband, K Bhaskaran who worked as a schoolmaster had given an affidavit that claimed he has no other income, was exposed by Janam Tv.

Now the breaking news is Shylaja teacher’s son Lasith is currently the manager of the IT department at Kannur airport. Lasith became an employee of Kannur International Airport Limited (KIAL) when his father K. Bhaskaran was the chairman of the Mattannur municipality, which includes the Kannur airport. The complaint filed in the Thalassery vigilance court states that the Chairman who is supposed to work for the smooth functioning of the airport has allegedly appointed his son as the manager in the IT Department.

It is alleged that Lasith held 35th rank in the examination. Another airport official who responded to this fake act was offered a job to his daughter.

In 2015 when Lasith started working in KIAL on a contract basis, his remuneration was increased to a certain extent. And that was the time when K K Shylaja was not only a minister of health but also a member of KIAL’s HR sub-committee.

Currently, K K Shylaja is one of the directors of Kannur Airport and son Lasith, the manager of IT department. Not only it has given jobs to its own people but also illegal promotion and increment. This illegal act has annoyed other employers who are working in KIAL on a merit basis. The merit-based employers in KIAL fear that the news of corruption allegations and irregularities will distress them.
