Aroor: A non-bailable case has been registered against UDF candidate Shanimol Usman for disrupting road maintenance. The complaint was lodged by a PWD engineer alleging that the maintenance of Eramalloor-Ezhupunna road was disrupted.
In the complaint submitted to Alappuzha SP, it said that the workers of the road maintenance were obstructed following which an investigation was imposed. According to PWD officials, the maintenance work was underway before the elections were announced. But a team led by Shanimol obstructed alleging that the work started, post the announcement of elections.
The engineer accused Shanimol and about 50 Congress workers saying that they were blocked and officials were not allowed to work.
