Shocking news has emerged from Kannur’s Valapattanam regarding IS case. Janamtv.com obtained the records of the trial of the IS recruitment case accused and later an approver.

M V Rashid, from Kannur reached Malaysia via Iran and illegally entered Turkey, was arrested and then a probator in the case. He was later deported to Mumbai, where he was afterwards arrested in Kerala.

Rashid asserted that Popular Front activist Shajil had spoken to him about going to IS. The first accused in the Valapattanam case, Mithilaj was also present. Shajil tried to brainwash Rashid by convincing him that he can go to heaven after death without any questions and for that he has to fight with IS. “If you die in the fight, you will have a painless death.” Shajil told him that he would recommend 72 people if they get to heaven. Shajil also said that the laws were made by people in other countries.

Rashid explained that Shah Jahan and his family were among those who were ready to go to IS. It was decided to go in two batches. Shah Jahan and his family were in Rashid’s group. Shajil and the first accused in the case Mithilaj were the other two in the next batch. They were accompanied by Shajil’s wife and two children. Rashid’s team decided to go to Syria through Malaysia and the Shahjil’s group via Dubai.

Rashid, who travelled from Chennai to Kuala Lumpur, later came to Iran. They had decided to go to Syria from Iran via Turkey. The plan was to enter Turkey illegally. Rashid said that while the boat was waiting for them on the canal, the police patrolling in the area started firing, following which Rashid, Shah Jahan along with his elder child and Mithilaj jumped into the canal and swam across to reach Turkey. The Turkey police raided their residence and later deported them to Mumbai, India. After a period of six months, they were arrested again, confessed Rashid at NIA court.

MV Rashid was an active Popular Front – SDPI activist in Munderi Padanotta Mota. Rashid also stated during the trial that he was involved in many criminal cases while working for the Popular Front.
