Kozhikkode: Inquiry on the shocking murders of Koodathai is getting strengthened as the case unravels more and more information of the killings. Two local political leaders as well as the revenue department officer will be questioned.
The statement given by the officer who had inquired the case earlier, will be taken again. Police will record the statement of Jolly’s second husband Shaju as Jolly has given statements against the latter.
Meantime, it is found that Jolly had tried to kill Annamma Thomas many times before Annamma was killed in the year 2002. The serial killings began with Annamma Thomas, Jolly’s mother in law.
Jolly, was trying to escape to Kattappana, said police. But her plan was blocked as the Crime Branch officers asked her to be in Koodathai as probe was going on. These words made her convince about official’s suspicion on her. She had discussed about the chances of avoiding arrests with her close friend, who is a local politician.
The officers were frequently questioning Jolly and whenever questioned, she told that she was not a part of the crime. Jolly finally admitted her role in all these heinous crimes when she was shown her phone call details.
Jolly has confessed to all six murders and said she used cyanide for killings. Accomplices of the crime will also be targeted soon.
Six deaths in Ponnammattom family, under mysterious circumstances took place between the year 2002 and 2016 and Jolly witnessed all these deaths. Police opened the tombs of Jolly’s mother- in-law Annamma Thomas, her husband Tom Thomas, their son Roy Thomas, and Annamma’s brother Mathew, at Lourde Matha Church, Koodathai under the Thamarassery eparchy of Syro-Malabar Church, for collecting evidences.
