Kozhikode: Senior communist leader and CPI(M) Secretary for Kozhikode district, P. Mohanan, today revealed that Muslim extremists are supporting the communist terror outfit Maoist grow in Kerala. He also demanded that the police must investigate the nexus between the two extremists ideologies.
P. Mohanan was speaking at a public meeting of the KSKTU, when he made this controversial statement. However, the communist leader failed to reveal the Islamist organization that had allegedly helped the Maoists.
He said, “Islamic terrorists outfil is helping Maosits in Kerala. Kozhikode has become a hub for the Maoists activities.”
He added, “Islamic terrorists are encouraging the Maoists and police should probe this angle. These terror outfits operating out of Kozhikode are supporting the Maoists. There exists a bonhomie between Islamic terror outfits and Maoists.
Recently, four Maoists were gunned down in the forests of Palakkad. Later two CPI(M) members were caught with leaflets containing dangerous Maoist literature. The CPI(M) members were arrested and charged under the stringent UAPA.
Though, many CPI(M) leaders came in support of the two CPI(M) members, the Kerala police did not back down and proceeded with the charging of the duo.
Fortunately, the communist party is slowly realizing the threat of Islamic terrorism in the state and how it helps Maoists gain strength.
