Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State President, K. Surendran, asked the people to observe Janatha Curfew on Sunday, which was called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fight against the spread of COVID-19.

Surendran said that the Prime Minister’s message to protect oneself and thus making others safe must be taken up by the people. The Prime Minister had asked the people to keep social distance with one another and to avoid public spaces.

The BJP leader said that Janatha Curfew is called to reduce the contact among people that would help block the spread of the virus.

Surendran also said that the Prime Minister’s decision to create an Economic Task Force to face the crisis in economy is a welcome move. He said that the PM’s message not to block the salary of those who could not reach office during this time is a relief.

The PM’s message not to go to hospitals unless it is necessary is very important.

K. Surendran said that the involvement of people is paramount in fighting the coronavirus and this is what Narendra Modi has done. He added that no one can stand apart during a critical time as now. The people must take precautions to fight the epidemic and called upon everyone to stay at home this Sunday from 7 am to 9 pm as requested by the Prime Minister.
