Chengannur: Sevabharathi volunteer Ambadi was beaten up by police while distributing food packets at Chengannur. Chengannur police team led by SI SV Biju charged on the volunteer.
The injured Ambadi has been admitted in the government hospital.
At around 12 noon, near ITI junction, Ambadi was collecting the food packets when the police team started beating him up. Despite showing the pass received from the police station, the police team continued attack on Ambadi.
It is also reported that he has also been attacked after taking to the custody.
It is also to be noted that for the last 10 days, since the lockdown was announced, Sevabharathi workers, including Ambadi, have been serving food at Chengannur station.
