New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health has classified 170 hotspot districts in the Red Zone, while 207 non-hotspot districts with clusters and non-infected districts have been classified as Green Zone.

In Kerala, 12 districts are categorised in the hotspot and non-hotspot list.

Six districts- Kasaragod, Kannur, Malappuram, Ernakualam, Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta districts and some regions in Wayanad district are counted as hotspot.

The other six fall under non-hotspot list – Thrissur, Kollam, Idukki, Palakkad, Alappuzha and Kottayam.

Kozhikode however remains non-included in both the categories.

Green zones are the districts where no COVID cases are reported so far. All six metro cities in the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabd are hotspots.

The Central government said that hotspot districts can be turned to Orange Zone when no cases are reported in 14 days and this zone could be turned to Green Zone when further no positive cases are reported in the next 14 days.
