Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI mouthpiece ‘Janayugam” has indirectly criticised the Sprinklr deal amid the controversy stirred up. New reports on data leaking, unauthorized sharing and misuse are often portrayed on a regular basis but issues like data privacy and security are given serious consideration, said the editorial of ‘Janayugam’.
The CPI has come forward after the Opposition raised their voice against the Sprinklr deal.
The protection of independence, liberty, democracy and sovereignty is a matter of concern in our state. The Aadhaar or Unique Identification Authority of India was widely opposed here due to the concerns regarding data privacy.
The leaking of personal data can adversely affect the individual and the government or the agency which collected it. It is also a matter at high risk where the capitalist countries dominate over data economy and target the data from the developing and under-developed countries including India.
The controversies popped out after it came into limelight that the state government acquired the service of the US based company Sprinklr for COVID data collection. The opposition alleged that it is unsafe to share the data of the patients in Kerala with a US company and the decision was taken with vested interests.
However, the government said that it shall not disclose personal data to anyone.
