Palakkad: Palakkad Malabar Cements appoints CITUs illegally in the backdrop of coronavirus lockdown. 93 people have been appointed illegally by violating laws. The appointment comes before completing two months after the company announced its VRS on a financial issue.
Appointments are usually done through the employment exchange or by giving advertisement in the newspaper for the exams. But these rules have been violated and appointed 93 members of the Malabar Cements Labor Contract Cooperative Society, headed by the CITU.
As members of the society became company’s employees, non-members of the society were not even given chance to apply for jobs.
According to officials, the appointment was made on the basis of a contract made in 2010 during the tenure of Minister of Industries, Elamaram Kareem. Meanwhile, Yuva Morcha alleged that the appointment was also a violation of terms of the lockdown.
