Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Sunday directed the state government to allow movement of the travellers stuck yesterday at Walayar border. The HC asked the government to issue emergency travel passes to the people and give priority to pregnant women and children.
The HC said that this order is only for those people stranded at Walayar. The court said that it would not violate the lockdown guidelines and the people should comply with the government-issued guidelines.
The court has also asked people not to cross the border without the travel pass.
There are some guidelines from the Central and State Governments regarding the prevention of disease. And the court has limitations in intervening to alter any restrictions, said the High Court.
