Thiruvananthapuram: The highest cases of coronavirus reported in Kerala today with 111 new cases in the last 24 hours, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This is the first time Kerala reported a three-digit number of cases.
The situation in the state seems to get worsened day by day.
50 arrived from abroad, 48 came from other states. 10 infected through contact. Meanwhile 22 have tested negative for the virus.
Of the total cases, Palakkad has reported the highest cases with 40, Malappuram with 18, Pathanamthitta 11, Ernakulam 10, Thrissur 8, Thiruvananthapuram 5, Alappuzha 5, Kozhikode 4, Kollam 2, Idukki 3, Wayanad 3, Kottayam 1, and Kasaragod 1.
25 people returned from Maharashtra tested positive for COVID-19 while 10 from Tamil Nadu, 4 from Delhi, 3 each from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, 1 each from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Lakshadweep were confirmed with the disease.
There are 128 hotspots in the state.
Out of the 22 negative cases, 7 are from Kasaragod, 5 from Thrissur, 4 each from Alappuzha and Ernakulam and 1 each from Kozhikode and Thriuvananthapuram.
