Thiruvananthapuram: Due to the coronavirus outbreak, situation in the state is worsening day by day. The coastal areas in the capital have been closed and Munnar has been declared as a containment zone.
In the backdrop of community transmission, lockdown has been implemented along the coast of Thiruvananthapuram, informed Minister Kadakampally Surendran.
The region will be demarcated into three zones and two IPS officers will be entrusted in each zone. No one can enter or exit the coastal areas.
After a doctor was diagnosed with the disease, Munnar declared as a containment zone. Shops selling essentials are only allowed to run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
