Thiruvananthapuram: Minister K T Jaleel will be interrogated by the Customs Department. The decision comes after it was found that parcels reached C-apt via diplomatic channels and Customs find it suspicious in the delivery of holy book Quran in 250 boxes, as claimed by the Minister.
Swapna Suresh, the second accused in the gold smuggling case, had contacted Minister K T Jaleel several times over the phone. However, the Minister had said that Ramadan relief food kits are distributed through UAE Consulate every year and for that purpose he had been in touch with Swapna Suresh.
However, it was delayed due to coronavirus lockdown. The Minister said that the UAE Consul General directed him to call Swapna Suresh regarding the distribution of food kits and affirmed that he had all the documents related to this.
