Thiruvananthapuram: Demanding Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s resignation over gold smuggling case, police arrested BJP leaders including state president K Surendran, for protesting outside the Assembly.
Surendran said the BJP would continue protesting till the resignation of the Chief Minister, who had set up asylum for anti-nationals.
Surendran also said that it was undemocratic of the government for not allowing BJP senior MLA O Rajagopal to speak before passing the resolution on leasing out Thiruvananthapuram airport. The protest was inaugurated by O Rajagopal MLA.
State general secretaries of the BJP George Kurian, P Sudheer, Vice President V.T. Rema, Secretaries S Suresh, C Sivankutty were the others arrested by the police.
