Noose tightens for CM Pinarayi Vijayan: Swapna Suresh, M Sivasankar met six times in presence of CM, reports ED charge sheet

Kochi: Noose has been tightened for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the high profile gold smuggling case. The charge sheet submitted by the Enforcement Directorate mentions CM’s name.

According to charge sheet, gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh met M Sivasankar, former principal secretary, six times in the presence of the Chief Minister. Swapna’s statement moves in the direction of trapping the CM.

The ED explains in the charge sheet the matters relating to Sivasankar and Swapna Suresh including how they got acquainted. Sivasankar had helped her when she was facing financial crisis.

After resigining from UAE Consulate, she applied for a job in the Space Park and gave the name of Sivasankar as reference. Swapna applied for the job through PricewaterhouseCoopers as directed by Sivasankar.

ED also states that Sivasankar introduced chartered accountant Venugopal to her. Swapna came with a bag of money when Sivasankar was also present.
