Kadakampally Surendran, Kanthapuram Aboobacker visited UAE Consulate several times: Sarith’s statement to ED

Kochi: The prime accused in the high-profile gold smuggling case Sarith’s statement copy has been traced by Janam TV. In the statement to the Enforcement Directorate, it is revealed that Ministers including K T Jaleel and Kadakampally Surendran have visited the UAE consulate several times.

Kadakampally Surendran visited Consul General in connection with a job appointment of his son at UAE.

Sarith’s statement said that, ” I came to know that Minister Kadakampally Surendran visited the Consul General in connection with a job appointment of his son at UAE and Minister K T Jaleel visited UAE Consulate in connection with the function organised by UAE Consulate for distribution of Ramadan kit.”

He also mentions Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar’s name in the statement.

“Kanthapuram A P Aboobacket Musliyar and his son namely Abdul Hakkim also visited the Consul General several times for collecting donations, Holy Quran in large quantity,” stated Sarith.

The Consul General was never told about the smuggling. But they also took commission in the name of the Consul General. According to Sarith, the Attache was paid a commission of $ 1,500 each time when the gold reached twice.
