Kochi: The Kerala High Court Single Bench, on Thursday rejected Chief Minister’s additional secretary CM Raveendran’s plea questioning the steps of the Enforcement Department.
Raveendran appeared before the Enforcement this morning after being given three notices for questioning. The High Court held that the petition was irrelevant in this case.
Raveendran’s main allegation in the petition was that the probe team was constantly harassing him by asking him to appear for questioning and also that ED should not be allowed to detain him for a longer period for interrogation. The court enquired why Raveendran was afraid of being questioned and asked how giving notice could be torture.
ED argued that not only the petition is invalid but also pointed out that his pleas were immature. Enforcement told the court that Raveendran was trying to evade questioning.
The court also did not accept his request to allow his lawyer to be with him while the interrogation.
