Kochi: The High Court of Kerala on Friday granted conditional bail to the mother of the child in the Kadakkavoor POCSO case. The Court directed that the case should be further investigated by a woman IPS officer and the progress report should be communicated to the court. The court also said that the child can be moved away from the father if needed.
The mental and physical state of the child must be examined. A medical team should assigned for this. The team should include experts from the medical college, said the court.
Earlier, the government had opposed the mother’s bail application. The government told the court that there was evidence that the mother had abused the child and therefore should not be granted bail.
