Eranakulam: To mark the beginning of Sreekrishna Jayanthi celebrations in the state, flags hoisted in 15 lakh homes in Kerala. Balagokulam temple areas and in public places flags were hoisted. Sree Krishna Jayanthi is on August 30. Until then various celebrations including Krishna Kuteeram at homes, Gau puja(worshipping cows), vriksha puja(worship of trees), dance of gopis, river worship, feeding little Krishna, Uriyadi(breaking pots containing butter) etc will take place.
Balagokulam is the pioneer in organizing Krishna Jayanthi celebration all over the state. If not for corona, the streets will be filled with colorful Krishna, gopis, dance, music and celebrations.
Balagokulam Balasamskara Kendra 25th Janmashtami memento will be awarded to Kathakali Acharya Sri Kalamandalam Gopi Aashan today evening. The function will be at Thrissur Paramekkavu Vidyamandir. Union minster V. Muraleedharan will inaugurate the function. Atrist Namboothiri will present the memento to Gopi Aashan. RSS Pranthasahakaaryavaah K P Radhakrishnan will give the inaugural speech.
Janam TV Director P. Vishwaroopan, Chenda maestro Peruvanam Kuttan Marar, Film personalities Nedumudi Venu, Manju Warrier, Shashi Ayyanchira, Kalamandalam Kshemavathi, P K G Nambiar, Chithran Namboothirippad, Dr. D. K Sundar Menon, R. Prasannakumar, Rajeev Menon, and N Hareendran will attend the function.
