Ayyappa Jyothi Lights up Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Ayyappa devotees across the state lit lamps in their homes and temples, raising the demand for preservation of the sacred traditions of the Sabarimala temple. The timing of the Ayyapa Jyothi coincided with the Makara Jyothi at Ponnambalamedu. Devotees thronged local temples to light the lamps. The move was led by Sabarimala Karma Samithi, the organization at the forefront of the agitation against the Leftist Government’s attempts to break the traditions of the holy temple. The Samithi had also organized an Ayyappa Jyothi on the 6th of December.
