Kerala in the grip of Communist terror: 20 political killings under Pinarayi Vijayan’s watch

Thiruvananthapuram: Communist party is showing no signs of mending their terror tactics upon rival parties. The latest being the brutal killings of two Congress workers in Kasargod. Since Pinarayi Vijayan ascended the Chief Minister’s chair, the number of political killings has risen to 20, which includes 11 BJP workers.

Surprisingly, Pinarayi Vijayan handles the Home portfolio too. In almost all the cases the accused are workers of CPI(M).

Just after Pinarayi Vijayan assumed office, BJP workers were attacked and killed at Muzhakunnu and Payannur in Kannur District. In Kottayam District, a person was killed because he had defected to the BJP from the Communist Party.

2016 continued with more killings of BJP workers at Kasaba, Palakkad, and Dharmadam. CPI(M) workers were the main accused in these murders. In Kozhikode, the Communist Party workers were again the prime accused in the murders of Muslim League workers at Nadapuram and Kuttiyadi.

The killing spree by the communist party stretched into 2017 by the murder of BJP workers at Sreekariyam in Thiruvananthapuram, Kadakkal in Kollam, Guruvayoor, Dharmadam, and Payannur.

2018 also witnessed brutal murders of BJP workers at New Mahe, Peravoor, and a Youth Congress worker at Mattannoor. Police report that the Communist Party is behind all the killings. That year also witnessed the killing of a BJP worker at Peravoor by SDPI.

Yesterday’s murder of two Congress workers in Kasargod by the Communist Party is a sign that the party has no intention to let go of their terror tactics even after huge public outrage against their violence.

It must be noted that even witnesses appearing against the Communist Party are not safe. The High Court of Kerala had to direct the police to give protection to a witness in a political murder in Kannur.

The Chief Minister himself had admitted in the Assembly that 14 political killings took place from the time he assumed the office in 2016 till August 2017. He explained that 7 people were killed in Kannur District in which 5 were RSS workers. In addition, 4 RSS workers were killed in Palakkad, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram. All the culprits were CPI(M) workers.

Political killings have been used by the Communist Party in Kerala for decades to suppress opposition parties. They have used fear and power to intimidate ordinary people who believe in a political ideology other than communism.
