Kochi: Opposition Leader, VD Satheesan, said that a scam of Rs.100 crore has been committed as part of the installation of AI cameras under the Safe Kerala project. He said that the project, with expense less than Rs.50 crores, was implemented at a higher price. He also said that the Industries Minister and Industries Department was aware of this.

According to the stipulations the instruments had to be purchased from a company called Troys. The proposal submitted by Troys shows that the total cost including the construction of the Central Control Room was only Rs.57 crores.

The proposal showing higher amount than the market value for the cameras is not transparent. Latest technology will be obtained. The project could have been done for Rs.45 crore. This is what has reached up to Rs.151 crore deal. A project that could have been completed under Rs.51 crore was raised to Rs.151 crore.

A difference of Rs.100 crore has been siphoned off.

The opposition leader continued that Presadio Technologies owner has not denied any allegations. The relative of the Chief Minister has taken part in the consortium meeting. If investigations are declared, he is ready to give the evidences. Prakash Babu said that the project is a dream project during the meeting. The responsible people must clarify whether those companies, which withdrew from the consortium, had demanded their money back.

Satheesan revealed that the Industries Minister and the Principal Secretary were aware of the dealings. However, their hands were tied. Let the Industries Minister reply to this. The Industries Department knew that there were irregularities in the rates. The Al Hind company itself had informed the Industries Principal Secretary about the scam. It means that the government was informed of the scam. The whole deal was done under the control of Presadio Technologies.

The opposition leader added that a similar scam took place in the KFON deal also. Presadio and Troys companies are involved in that too.

He demanded that the CM must reply to his allegations and each of his questions is backed with the evidence.
