Ernakulam: The High Court of Kerala has criticized the government severely  in the Dr. Vandana murder case. The court said that the time is not far away when accused persons will attack Magistrates and added that the government is trying to justify itself.

The High Court said that the doctors are on strike today also. How many people are awaiting medical treatments. What will happen if something goes wrong. The doctors are striking not to gain something. They are on strike out of fear. How can we live in fear, asked the court.

The court also asked the government to contain the situation before it goes out of control.

The High Court told the government not to approach the issue in lethargically. This is a systemic failure. Incidents such as this is not heard before. The police itself is saying that the accused had visible changes in behaviour. If so, then why did the police let the accused alone with Dr. Vandana. This is the failure of the system and if this is the situation then it is not far when accused will attack Magistrates.

The court observed that our system failed Dr. Vandana and this same system pushed her parents into grief.

ADGP Ajith Kumar made an online presentation to the court on how the incident unfolded yesterday.
