KOLLAM: The charge sheet in Dr Vandana Das murder case is likely to be delayed. The results of certain chemical tests and reports of scientific evidence have not been received yet. The charge sheet preparation will only begin after they are received. It is reported that this will take months.
Sandeep, who is a teacher, is the only accused in the case. The accused was taken to his house, neighbouring houses and the Taluk Hospital Kottarakkara the other day for collection of evidence. He was produced before the court after the completion of evidence collection. Sandeep is under judicial custody till May. The statements of more than 200 people have been recorded as part of the investigation. The statements of some students from the school where Sandeep was working will also be recorded after the school reopening. It is to understand Sandeep’s behaviour. All employees of the Taluk Hospital have given statements against Sandeep.
The investigation team is of the conclusion that Sandeep was not drunk on the day of the incident. It is uncertain whether Sandeep had used any drugs. The reason behind Sandeep taking scissors and attacking Dr Vandana and others has not been determined yet. DySP MM Jose said that the investigation will almost be complete if evidence regarding this is found.
