Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister V Muraleedharan has expressed his strong criticism of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He criticised how Pinarayi Vijayan is extorting money from the people and wasting it on his allies.
These harsh criticisms arose after the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government decided to grant an honorarium of ₹1 lakhs to the state’s special representative, KV Thomas.
The Union Minister said that the state government is levying taxes on water, electricity, and other commodities to fund such extravaganzas. He also added that, “The government has been pursuing ahead in a deceitful manner. Pinarayi Vijayan regime has been slaughtering the poor.”
Muraleedharan’s remark comes from the fact that, usually when retired government officials are reappointed, they will be paid a salary after deduction of their pension amount. However, the rule does not apply in this situation since KV Thomas is paid an honorarium rather than a salary and other benefits.
The minister also used the occasion to critique the government on a number of other issues.
The minister added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the proud pillar of Indian democracy to the nation on May 28, the ‘Sengol,’ which will be installed in the Central Vista, represents justice beyond the reach of authority.
