Alappuzha: A sexual assault complaint was raised inside the Communist Party of India (CPI) against one of its leader in Alappuzha. A Complaint has been filed against a member of the district council in Alappuzha south region. The woman who complained to the state leadership is from a prominent party family. But no action has been taken on the complaint yet.
The woman who is working in Thiruvananthapuram had directly met the state secretary of the party and lodged a complaint. The party had promised her that they will investigate the incident. But no action has been taken till now. The matter was also investigated by the party, but no reports have come out. Also the party members were not sure about the actions taken. But the notable thing is that the woman has not filed a complaint to police yet.
There is also a complaint that the accused member of the district council has extorted money from a married woman. Relatives of an expatriate who was a former district member of AISF said that a huge amount of gold and money were stolen by the accused leader from the expatriate’s wife. The couple recently got divorced. But the party has not taken any action on that issue either.
The lack of action by the party leadership, despite multiple similar complaints against the accused district member, has sparked outrage among party workers in the area. There also exists similar complaints against CP(I)M leaders.
