Indian Railways pays tribute to Primal Poet in Thunchaththu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, the father of modern Malayalam literature.
The Passengers Amenities Committee has announced that Tirur station, one of the major railway stations in Kerala, will be renamed as ‘Tirur Thunchaththu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan Railway Station’.
The information about the name change was announced after Indian Railway Passengers Amenities Committee Chairman PK Krishnadas and his team visited Tirur railway station.
Through a press conference he shared the information. He also shared a Facebook video in this regard on his official page.
He said that he had met the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav directly and discusses matters related to this. PK Krishnadas said that the Passenger Amenities Committee will submit a recommendation in this regard to the Railway Board and there is a good hope that the recommendation will be accepted. He also inspects the development works under Amrit Bharat project at Tirur railway station.
