Vythiri: C P Jaleel, the maoist leader has been killed in an encounter with Police at Vythiri, Wayanad. One member of the team has been taken into custody.
Kannur Range I G Balram Kumar Upadhyaya told media that maoists started firing at police and the latter retaliated with guns.
The encounter broke out at a private resort near national highway. A five member team rushed in the resort and demanded food and money.The encounter lasted for hours.
Chief Minister and DGP has been informed about the matter and Wayanad Sub Collector N S K Umesh has reached the spot to inquest.
