In response to a temporary stay issued by the High Court, the deadline for pension mustering has been extended until July. Officials have recently announced that the mustering process for recipients of social welfare pension and social security pension will now continue until July 31.
Initially, the mustering process for pensioners commenced on April 1, with Akshaya Kendras serving as the designated centers. However, some individuals approached the High Court, advocating for the inclusion of Common Service Centers in the mustering process. Common Service Centers had obtained licenses from the central government, making them eligible to participate.
Consequently, the High Court issued a temporary stay on the mustering proceedings, leading to the extension of the deadline. This development provides additional time for the implementation of an inclusive approach to the mustering process, as per the court’s order.
