Left-Wing organization activist arrested for falsifying NEET score sheet

Kollam: In a recent development, one more member of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has been arrested for engaging for counterfeit certificates. The arrested individual, Madthara Semikhan, who served as the Kollam Kadakkal Madathara area committee member and Balasangham Kadakkal area coordinator, was taken into custody on charges of forgery by Chithara Police.

Semikhan’s illicit actions came to light when it was discovered that he had falsified his National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination results in order to pursue further studies. Despite not meeting the requirements to qualify for NEET 2021-22, Semikhan fabricated a mark sheet displaying inflated scores and a higher rank. Subsequently, he filed a petition in the High Court, claiming that he had achieved a total of 468 marks in the NEET exam and was being denied admission to educational institutions.

Upon examining the case, the court summoned officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA) and directed the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the rural area to initiate an investigation. A joint effort between the Police Cyber Cell and Chithara Police revealed that Semikhan’s submitted marks list was indeed counterfeit. As a result, he was arrested, produced in court, and subsequently remanded.

The police have expressed their intention to detain Semikhan for further questioning, as they seek to unravel the extent of his involvement in the fraudulent activities. Semikhan is also a former leader of SFI in Madathara.
