Thiruvananthapuram: In a recent development, G. Sakthidharan, the former associate editor of Deshabhimani, has come forward with fresh allegations. Taking to Facebook, Sakthidharan claimed that a leader, whom he referred to as the ‘iratta chankan’ leader, had personally appropriated an amount exceeding Rs 2 crore without any official party records. The details of this amount is reported in the details given to the Election Commission.
Sakthidharan further revealed that he obtained this information from a comrade responsible for managing the party’s finances at their headquarters. However, his decision to make these allegations did not go unnoticed, as he soon faced multiple cyber attacks. To his dismay, Sakthidharan found that the state police had failed to take any action regarding his complaints on cyber attacks on him.
In response to these claims, MV Govindhan, State Secretary of CPI (M), dismissed all of Sakthidharan’s accusations as false, suggesting that he was merely aligning himself with the Congress party. In a sharp retort, Sakthidharan stated that Govindhan was unable to comprehend his unwavering commitment to political ideals.
Additionally, Sakthidharan revealed that while there is no concrete evidence regarding the alleged that around Rs 2 crore, there are some notes implicating the transfer of Rs 10 lakhs to the party’s headquarters. Intriguingly, the wrapped cover containing the money bore the name of a businessman.
