THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State President K. Surendran has accused the Congress of undermining the justice system. In response to derogatory statements made by Congress leaders regarding the court’s decision on Rahul’s caste abuse case. Surendran strongly criticized those questioning the Gujarat High Court’s affirmation of Rahul’s disqualification.
Surendran emphasized that Congress party leaders, including KC Venugopal, disrespecting the High Court’s authority is a direct challenge to the justice system. He stressed the importance of accepting court judgments, even if they are unfavorable.
Surendran also called on the Congress leadership to apologize to the people of Wayanad for their role in creating a situation where the constituency is currently without an MP. He blamed Rahul for impeding the development of Wayanad through irresponsible statements. Surendran says that since Rahul is now disqualified as an MP, he cannot represent the interests of Wayanad in the Lok Sabha.
AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal expressed that they never expect a fair fair treatment from Gujarat and announced the party’s intention to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
However, the Gujarat High Court upheld the Surat court’s judgment on appeal, citing Rahul’s consistent use of caste-based abuse as evidence of his unsuitability for the position of MP.
