Thiruvananthapuram: The wedding of Sreelakshmi, which had been postponed following the shocking murder of her father on the eve of her original wedding date, finally took place in Varkala. The ceremony was conducted this morning at Varkala Sivagiri in the presence of close relatives. The function was a low-key affair.  Vinu, hailing from Cherumayyur, tied knot with Srilakshmi. As Vinu adorned the Mangalsutra around Srilakshmi’s neck, she couldn’t hold back her tears, deeply moved by the memory of her late father Raju. Witnessing this emotional moment, the relatives in attendance were also touched and found themselves teary-eyed.

The unfortunate incident occurred on June 27th when Raju, the father of Sreelakshmi, was tragically killed on the night before her previously scheduled wedding. As a result, the wedding had to be postponed. However, during this challenging time, Vinu and his family stood firmly by Sreelakshmi and her family, providing unwavering support. Taking the lead, Vinu’s family took the initiative to arrange the postponed wedding at Sarada Math. The shocking murder sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving everyone deeply affected by the tragic event.

What was supposed to be a joyous celebration with the presence of close relatives, friends, and neighbours turned into a solemn atmosphere when Raju was ruthlessly murdered on the eve of the wedding. Prior to this tragic incident, Jishnu, a resident of Vadasserikonam, had expressed his desire to marry Sreelakshmi. However, Sreelakshmi and her family were not interested in pursuing the marriage proposal. This rejection angered Jishnu, leading him to threaten the family, declaring that he would prevent Sreelakshmi from marrying anyone else.

Upon his return from the Gulf, Raju took up a job as an auto driver. Unfortunately, on the eve of Sreelakshmi’s wedding, a rivalrous situation unfolded when Jishnu, his brother Jijin, and their friends Shyam and Manu forcefully entered the house. Their intention was to disrupt and sabotage Sreelakshmi’s marriage. The situation escalated into heated confrontations, resulting in a tragic turn of events with Raju losing his life, having been struck on the head with a spade. As a consequence, all four individuals involved in this crime are currently in custody awaiting legal proceedings.
