THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following a series of accidents in Muthalappozhi, Central Minister V. Muraleedharan has announced that the central government will step in to address the issue. In response to the continuous accidents plaguing the region, an expert team, led by V. Muraleedharan, is scheduled to visit Muthalappozhi on Monday.
The team will include representatives from the Fisheries Development Commissioner, Fisheries Assistant Commissioner, and the Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fishery (CICEF) Director. The decision for the expert visit came after V. Muraleedharan raised concerns about the ongoing accidents in the area and the alleged neglect of local residents by the state government.
V. Muraleedharan also held discussions with Union Fisheries Minister Shri Parshottam Rupala to explore potential permanent solutions to the challenges faced by fishermen in the region. This decision comes in the wake of a recent boat accident last week that resulted in the tragic loss of four lives in Muthalappozhi.
