THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the heart-wrenching murder of a five-year-old girl in Aluva, BJP State President K Surendran has expressed his strong condemnation of the state government’s handling of the issue. He passionately called for decisive police action similar to that of Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to the media after paying his last tributes to the young victim, Surendran emphasized that this incident shakes the conscience of every human being. He pointed out that Kerala is not a safe place for women, highlighting the urgent need for a transformation in the state’s police system to ensure their safety.
The leader expressed his dismay over the fact that, despite an exhaustive 18-hour search, the police couldn’t locate the child alive. He stressed the necessity of imposing severe police action to safeguard the well-being of women in the state.
Drawing attention to the larger problem, Surendran criticized the government and police for repeated failures in addressing such heinous crimes. He highlighted the alarming issue of the police system’s inefficiency and its apparent focus on objectives other than maintaining law and order.
Moreover, he shed light on the pervasive drug use among guest workers and called for thorough investigations into this matter. He advocated for the establishment of a dedicated police system to handle issues related to guest workers and address the lack of monitoring by local bodies and government agencies.
The BJP State President expressed his disappointment at the lack of police action in uncovering the racket behind the trafficking of guest workers and bringing the culprits to justice.
He firmly emphasized that the current police system in Kerala is weak and inadequate, demanding urgent attention and reform.
