Palakkad: In a shocking incident, Wadakancherry Mangalam Anchumurthy Mahadevar Temple in Palakkad district was targeted by thieves who stole valuables from the temple premises. When the temple was opened this morning, the authorities discovered that eight out of the nine vaults in the temple were broken into, resulting in a loss of Rs 25,000 due to theft.
The incident came to light when the temple was opened for daily rituals and prayers. Upon inspection, the temple officials were devastated to find the treasures in the vaults open and some valuables missing. The thief appears to have broken the treasures in front of various shrines inside Nalampalam, leading to significant losses.
Authorities immediately alerted the Wadakancherry police, who swiftly arrived at the scene to begin their investigation. The police are taking all necessary measures to identify the culprits behind the theft. A team of fingerprint experts will be visiting the temple to conduct a thorough inspection for potential evidence that could lead to the identification of the suspects.
In addition to fingerprint analysis, the police are meticulously reviewing the CCTV footage from the area surrounding the temple. Preliminary investigations suggest that the thieves might have cunningly disguised their intentions, pretending to visit the temple before committing the robbery.
