Ernakulam: Actor Suraj Venjaramoodu reported being targeted in a cyber attack. He expressed concern over receiving continuous threatening calls to his personal number, with numerous people threatening to take his life. In response to this cyberbullying, Suraj filed a complaint at the Ernakulam Kakkanad cyber police station.

Previously, the actor had expressed his support for the victims of violence in the country on social media, emphasizing the importance of upholding the citizens’ right to freedom of expression as enshrined in the constitution. He actively voiced his opinions on the Manipur issue. But Suraj said that his focus was solely on art and refrained from discussing politics or religion. However, the actor faced criticism for the delay in responding to the killing of the girl in Aluva, despite being quick to react to the Manipur issue and other isolated incidents in North India. His silence on many issues that shocked Kerala’s conscience has caused resentment among the public.

Subsequently, the actor has come forward to report receiving a threatening message. He said that he has been swamped with over a thousand calls in the past few days. In response to the escalating number of calls and the severity of the cyber attack, he had to turn off his phone, and it became impossible for him to switch it back on safely.

In a separate incident, it has been reported that Suraj Venjaramoodu was involved in a car accident caused by his careless driving. Following the accident, the motor vehicle department conducted an inspection of the actor’s car. The Palarivattom police have filed a case against the actor. Additionally, the Department of Motor Vehicles has instructed him to attend a class on traffic rules. Suraj’s car collided with a bike coming from the opposite direction at around twelve o’clock on Saturday night. The biker Sarath, a resident of Malappuram Manjeri, sustained leg injuries in the accident which will require surgery. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Palarivattom. The accident happened when Suraj was coming from Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram.
