Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State President, K Surendran, has come down heavily against the state government for its support to Popular Front of India (PFI). He said that the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) move to confiscate Green Valley, is a big blow to the state government. Green Valley is the major weapons training center of the PFI in India.
K Surendran said that after the ban of PFI by the Central Government when other states confiscated the property of the PFI the government led by Pinarayi Vijayan was protecting their property in Kerala.
He also accused the Kerala Police of taking a soft approach towards the PFI and said that it was done on the orders of the CPI(M). Green Valley, which is considered as the headquarters of terrorism in India, was not sealed off due to the vote bank interests of the government.
Surendran added that the Central Government’s strong stand against terrorism has become a blow to the PFI and those who are backing them. The BJP supports the move of the NIA to attach the Green Valley.
The BJP leader said that just like the ruling party, the opposition UDF has also taken a stand in support of the PFI. The Muslim League has publically invited the members of the banned PFI. Now, the League activists are speaking more fanatically than the PFI. The religious fanatics in the CPI(M) is giving them all the support.
Surendran said that the CPI(M)’s support to Speaker AN Shamseer’s anti-Hindu comments is aimed at attracting PFI cadres and the Muslim votes.
Green Valley was the biggest weapons training center of the PFI in Kerala. The NIA sealed and confiscated the Green Valley Academy that was spread across 10 hectares of land in Manjeri. The building was used to for weapons training and to train the cadres in the use of explosive materials.
The NIA had found out that the cadres of National Development Front (NDF), which joined with PFI, had used this building extensively.
