Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan, in a press meeting clarified that AN Shamseer will not tender an apology to the Hindu community and justified Speaker AN Shamseer’s anti-Hindu remarks. He added that Lord Ganapathi is a myth and not scientific.

MV Govindan said that the communist party will not tender an apology to Hindu community nor will it change its stand on Speaker AN Shamseer’s statement that Lord Ganapathi is a myth and it is a hindrance to scientific progress.

The party secretary instead said that the Speaker’s words were used to polarize the people and there must awareness against it. He also said that the CPI(M) is not against any religion. Though the communist party supports devotees, the party is against many beliefs of the devotees.

Govindan also criticized the Prime Minister for behaving as a priest while taking part in the rituals at Ayodhya temple. He said that the CPI(M) had said that this was wrong.

He said that going to Ganapathi temple is good but it must be pondered if this is used as a political tool.

The party secretary also reiterated AN Shamseer’s statement that myths are changed into history. He also brought out Chatambi Swami’s words saying that Kerala was not created by Parashuram.

He also warned that science must not be undermined in the name of belief.

MV Govindan also said that all beliefs need not be a myth.
