THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: MV Govindan, the CPI(M) Kerala State Secretary, has reversed his statement  following the intensifying protests by Hindu believers. Govindan categorically stated that neither he nor Shamseer referred to Ganesha or Allah as myths.

Amidst the controversy surrounding the anti-Hindu remarks made by the Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer, Govindan reiterated that neither he nor Shamseer had used the term “myth” for the Hindu Lord. He gave this reverse statement while addressing the media.

He demanded to scrutinize his statements carefully, questioning, “Why would I ever say that Ganesha and Allah are myths? Verify the facts.” Govindan offered the customary explanation, stating that his words had been distorted by certain media.

Emphasizing that Ganesha and Allah hold significant places in their respective religion and faiths, he asserted that no one had questioned the rights of believers’ faiths.

Govindan criticized certain media outlets for propagating fake news and misinterpreting his speech to spread baseless allegations against him. He further reassured that the CPI(M) would never adopt any stance against believers and emphasized the party’s unwavering allegiance to true believers.
