THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP’s Kerala State President, K Surendran, has criticized that the CPI(M) is engaged in a deliberate strategy to demean the Hindu religion. He claims that the party consistently pursues an agenda of undermining the beliefs of the Hindu community.
Surendran raised questions about the government’s acceptance of funds from the Devaswom Board while simultaneously regarding temples and faith as mere myths.
Surendran added, CPI (M) has faced criticism for its actions within the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, with accusations of similar behavior. Presently, legal action is being taken against participants of the Namajapa Yatra (a peaceful mantra chanting event) in Thiruvananthapuram.
Criticism arises due to the perceived imbalance in addressing religious concerns, with no corresponding legal action taken against those associated with religious extremism, including training centers affiliated with terrorist organizations. This situation is perceived to be unsettling the religious harmony of Kerala.
Furthermore, Surendran emphasized that MV Govindan’s attempt to reverse or deny making the controversial statement is unacceptable. He called for Shamseer to retract his remarks and offer an apology for what is seen as an anti-Hindu sentiment. The comments made by Shamseer have reportedly caused distress to the wider Hindu community.
Shamseer’s statement is accused of inciting riots and promoting religious rivalry, as stated by K Surendran during his press address.
