“We will not allow Speaker Shamseer to apologize”, asserts Sajitha Madathil

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the midst of the ongoing debate surrounding AN Shamseer’s controversial statements, actress Sajitha Madathil has put forth her own contentious viewpoint.

Sajitha Madathil has expressed that an apology from Kerala Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer for his controversial “myth” statement is unnecessary.

The actress has firmly stood her ground, stating that even if Shamseer were to express an inclination towards apologizing, she and others sharing her scientific perspective would not entertain the notion. She emphasized that her approach, grounded in a scientific worldview, allows her to reject those who conflate religion with science.

Furthermore, Sajitha Madathil affirmed, “Yes, I hold the same conviction that religion and science should not be intertwined.”

She continued, “We are following a science-based education system. If speeches promoting science are seen as detrimental to faith, then I can argue that speeches advocating faith could potentially undermine the scientific principles I have learned. Therefore, those who hold faith-based beliefs should extend apologies to individuals like me who firmly adhere to the principles of science.”

Consequently, she firmly asserted that those who challenge her dedication to scientific reasoning should offer an apology.”

Remaining steadfast in her stance, Sajitha Madathil reiterated that even if Shamseer were to issue an apology, they would not permit it. She maintained that such an act would contradict the principles of scientific thinking.

Then the actress posed a question: “Shouldn’t the sentiments of those who have grown up with a scientific mindset be hurt? What a regrettable situation this is!”
