Amit Shah to decide BJP candidate against Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad, says BDJS President Thushar Vellapally

Thrissur: The President of BDJS, one of the constituent of the NDA, Thushar Vellapally has said that Amit Shah will decide the BJP candidate to contest against Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad.

According to the seat sharing agreement among the parties of NDA, it was agreed that the Wayanad seat would go to BDJS.

However, after state Congress leaders last week said that Rahul Gandhi might contest from Wayanad, Thushar Vellapally had told that his party will offer the Wayanad seat to BJP.

Thushar Vellapally’s statement is seen as BDJS’s commitment to the alliance. He said that his party will fully support any decision made by the Amit Shah.

Amit Shah today said that Rahul Gandhi has run away from Amethi to Wayanad because of his fear of defeat.

Former Mizoram Governor and Thiruvananthapuram candidate Kummanam Rajasekharan also said that Rahul Gandhi’s decision to contest from Wayanad is out of fear of his defeat at Amethi. He demanded Rahul Gandhi to openly speak about the political alliance being pursued in Kerala and asked if it is the same as in the Center.

With BDJS giving up the seat to BJP, the Wayanad constituency is going to witness a strong contest among BJP, Congress, and CPI.
