Malappuram: BJP State President, K Surendran, questioned the relationship of the Chief Minister’s family with a black-sand mining company. He said that the case involving the CM’s daughter, Veena Vijayan, is shocking and demanded that a probe must be conducted into the dealings of Veena Vijayan with the black-sand mining company.

The BJP leader demanded an investigation into the money given by the company to the CM’s family. He asked on which contract Veena Vijayan received the money from the company. He also asked for a probe to check if the CM’s family received money through any other manner other than through banks.

K Surendran also urged the state and national leadership of the CPI(M) to seek an explanation from the Chief Minister regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M) General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury, said that it has come to know his notice about the Income Tax Department’s findings that Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena Vijayan received monthly payment from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited. The CPI(M) leader said that the Kerala leadership of the party will respond in the issue happening in Kerala.
